Photography for Childcare Centres in Melbourne

Studio Style Portraits
For childcare centres, I offer Studio Style Portraits.
This style of photography is especially suitable for Childcare Centres because the process is simple and streamlined, and more importantly, we're not under the mercy of Melbourne weather.
This is not a ‘stand there and smile’ situation. I will engage the children by chatting and being silly and allow plenty of time for the more reserved children to warm up.
And as always, I aim to capture their personalities.
Why Studio-style Portraiture is perfect for Childcare Centres:
- The process is organised and streamlined, so we don’t interrupt lunch and sleep times.
- Schedule can work around babies and young toddlers who are awake and cheerful only for a small window of time.
- Staff has time to clean faces and tidy up children’s hair (especially if parents have left specific instructions).
- Parents of children who don't normally attend on the scheduled photo days can bring their children in for photos.
- Children who arrive late or plan to leave early can fit in at any time so they don't miss out.
- Younger babies or super shy kids can have their portraits done while sitting on the educator's lap (don't worry, I'll crop the educator out of the photo).
- Not weather dependent. Photo days can still run perfectly in terrible weather.

How it works - Step 1:
We choose two (or three) days that will cover most children's attendance as our photo days.
For the few children who don't attend on those days, parents can bring the children in for photos during photo days, or arrange with the centre to do day-swaps if there is availability.
I will set up a registration portal with all the details and pricing for families to register. I will provide a draft email for the centre to forward to families, as well as printed flyers and posters with registration QR links.

How it works - Step 2:
Before photo week, we will choose an indoor space for me to set up the backdrop and studio light. (I might not need the studio light if the room has a big window).
The space I need is around 2m x 2m. (I can work with less than that if I'm near a big window and don't have to allocate space for the studio light).
An indoor children's gathering/play space or a classroom is a perfect location since it will allow educators to bring children in one group at a time, and children can play while they wait for their turn.

How it works - Step 3:
During photo days, I will arrive at around 8am and set up the 'studio' space. Parents can bring their children to me to be photographed at drop off if they wish, or educators can bring registered children to the 'studio' in groups.
Photography should wrap up by around 12pm each day.

How it works - Group Photos:
I offer composite group photos for childcare centres. This is because children attend the centre on different days at different drop-off / pick-up times, as well as have different nap-times depending on their age.
A composite group photo eliminates the need to have all the children awake and happy and gathered together for the group photo at the same time.
After Photo Week:
Roughly a month after the photos have been taken, each registered parent will receive an email from me, with links and password to their private photo gallery.
They will have two weeks to place their photo orders online.
Digital files can be downloaded immediately, print orders will be delivered to centre to for them to collect roughly a month after orders close.
Centre Bonuses:
- Free staff photos.
- Discounts for staff's children at the centre.
- Free 8x12 prints of each class's group photo for the centre to keep.
- $200 gift voucher donation* to the centre for books or teaching aid company of your choice.
* Minimum 30 registrations required.
