Father's Day Gift Ideas During Melbourne Lock-down

Aug 15, 2020 | By: Studio Z Photography

Father's Day is less than a month away.

This year, with my children, we scoured the internet for unique photo gifts for their dad and granddad.

I thought I'd share my findings here.

Just to be crystal clear, we haven't ordered our gifts yet so I don't know what the quality is like. And of course, I don't get any kickbacks from any of these shops.

Here they are, in order of my personal preference:

1. Photo Rubik's Cube

This is what we're going to get for my hubby. (shushhhh...)

My son Mica and I have learnt how to solve Rubik's cubes, but my hubby hasn't. This is going to force him to learn! Mwahahahaha!

2. Photo Jigsaw Puzzle

This is what we're going to get for the kids' grandfather who loves doing jigsaw puzzles.

3. Super-dad Socks

These socks are hilarious and will definitely tickle my hubby's sense of humour. But since it only fits one child on the other sock, it won't work for my family. :-(

4. Dad Bobblehead

This is pretty funny. Haha, I can see it bobbling happily on my hubby's ute dashboard!

5. LED Photo Keyring

I can't count the number of times hubby fumbled around in the dark to find the right key to our door. This LED photo keyring could come in handy. I'm saving this idea for his next father's day present!

So, those are my top 5 off the shelf no-fuss Father's Day gift ideas!

Below are some DIY father's day craft ideas I'm preparing for the kids to do on Father's Day, so that hubby can either choose to get involved, or have a restful day all to himself since these will keep the kids busy for quite a while.

Exploding Photo Box

I have placed my order for this one! It sure will keep the kids busy for quite a while! We're just going to print the photos using our home printer, but if you're organised, you can order photos online for them to arrive in time.

Comic Book Decoupage Frame

This is very cool, but there's no way I'd cut up comic books. I'm thinking I might print some of the kids' photos on my home inkjet printer to make decoupage on the frame.

Mini Photo Fridge Magnets

These are totally do-able! All we need are photos from our home printer, glue, and that roll of magnetic sticky tape we got ages ago from Officeworks!

Photo Coasters

This one is a maybe. I've been wanting to try it for a while, never got around to buying some tiles...

Happy crafting!

xx

p.s. Since I can't run Father's Day photo sessions this year, I thought I'd run a little give-away.

The first 10 people to buy a Gift Certificate between now and Father's Day will have $100 credit added to their purchase!

You'll have 3 years to use the Gift Certificate, hahaha I'm pretty confident that we'll be out of lockdown well before then!
